Obsession beats discipline - go all-in on your craft until you either die or get reborn.

Back to Beliefs

What you create creates you

Evidence

Identity does not precede work - it emerges from it. The filmmaker identity comes from making films, not from deciding to be a filmmaker. Your portfolio is your identity.

Implication

Stop asking what you want to be and start asking what you want to create. The being follows the doing. Create your way into identity rather than waiting to feel ready.

Counter Belief

Some foundation of identity is required before effective creation. Knowing who you are helps direct what you create. Identity and creation are bidirectional.

Example Application

Instead of spending years 'becoming a writer' through courses and identity-building, just write daily. After a year of writing, you are a writer. The creation created the identity.
